DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS

The City of Park City seeks a qualified and experienced Public Works Director. This is a Department Head level position under the direction of the City Administrator that is responsible to plan, direct and coordinate all activities and operations of the Street, Park, Water and Wastewater and Maintenance Departments and systems of the city. The Director develops and implements long and short term plans, goals and objectives; directs and coordinates the activities of personnel; is responsible for the maintenance of all city facilities; solicits and receives competitive bids; works with contractors and construction managers; acts as the liaison between the department and developers, property owners, business owners and residents; ensures compliance with city policies, federal, state and local laws and makes presentations to the City Council as required.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.  

Experience:

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and public relation skills. A proven track record of previous supervisory experience and five years of progressively responsible leadership in a Public Works or Civil Engineering environment is required. A Water Class IV and Wastewater Class IV Certification would be considered a plus, Registered Civil Engineer is preferred.

Compensation:

Competetive wages, exceptional benefit package to include outstanding health insurance plan where the City pays 100% of the premium. Additional benefits include dental, retirement, deferred compensation, holiday, and sick leave. Salary Range $31.11 to $44.60 per hour.

PART-TIME OFFICE ASSISTANT/RECEPTIONIST


The City of Park City is seeking a dependable, friendly individual with great customer service and computer skills for a Part-time Office Assistant-Receptionist who will be responsible to answer the phone, greet customers, create new utility accounts, receive and enter utility payments into financial software, issue and receive license and permit payments, assist with record keeping and perform other clerical duties. Successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of similar or related experience and must possess exceptional typing skills, time management skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, and have a positive attitude! High School diploma or GED required, experience in Incode software would be a plus.  This is a part-time position, eighteen (18) hours per week, daytime hours M-F may fluctuate.  Hourly rate of pay $14.55.

TESTING IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION; selected applicants will be required to complete testing at the Wichita Workforce Alliance Center.




ASSISTANT COURT CLERK

The City of Park City is seeking an independent thinker/problem solver with excellent customer service, public relation, clerical, organizational, and computer skills for an Assistant Court Clerk.  Will be responsible to assist the Court Clerk in the maintenance of department files and records, provide citizen assistance, and process citations and criminal complaints.  Successful applicant will have high school diploma or GED, previous experience in court office or law office and Incode software would be considered a plus, bilingual capabilities preferred.  Exceptional benefit package that includes medical (100 % of premium paid by the City), dental, retirement, deferred compensation, vacation, holiday, and sick.  Pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.

Successful Completion of Park City Field Training - $500.00

Promotion to Police Officer II (two years after KLETC graduation/certification) - $1000.00

Commissioned Officer New Hire

First Full paycheck - $500.00

Completion of Field Training and Park City Training Period with successful evaluation - $1000.00

Two Years of service with Park City - $1000.00

This is a full time position.  Hours/shifts will be assigned by the Chief of Police.  The entry-level salary for Police Officer I with no certification or experience is $17.80 per hour. Starting salary may be adjusted based on certification and years of experience.

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a valid Kansas driver’s license
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, medical exam, and drug screen.
  • Not have a personal or professional history that would automatically disqualify you for this position
  • Live within 30 minutes driving time under normal conditions.
